GALLERY OF WORK
Florals: Inspiration comes from the flowers that romp through my garden midsummer. Magenta Cosmos, Bronze Heleniums, Sunflowers and Moon Daisies all go into the bucket.
Seed pods, too, give wonderful shapes and spiky textures to mixed media work. I’ll cram them into every available jug and jam jar and bring summer into my tiny studio.
With Abstracts, it’s all about the Inner Landscape.
Music, usually jazz, keeps it all flowing. I’m fascinated by the similarities between non-representational art and jazz, the making of order out of chaos, and the unpredictability and spontaneity of the form.
Both abstracts and florals are an intuitive process. Depending on my mood they can be wild with playful energy or calm and meditational. In my current series I’m aiming for a sense of tranquillity and spaciousness.
